Midwest Ambulance’s Core Values

Midwest Ambulance has four (4) core values:

  1. Integrity

  2. Competence

  3. Courage

  4. Tenacity

These core values are necessary to accomplish our mission.

Integrity:  An unfaltering devotion to honesty, doing one’s duty, and doing what is right. Integrity is the foundation value upon which all others are built. Being a person of integrity is a prerequisite to living the other core values.

Competence:  The quality of possessing the skill, knowledge, and experience to perform a task. Competency is the center of our relationship with the patients we serve. Our patients expect that we are competent in every aspect of our duties.

Courage:   A willingness to face difficulty, and danger, while knowing the risks and being able to do what is right. Courage has two aspects being physical and moral. To protect and prevent loss of life and placing oneself in harm’s way is physical courage. Moral courage is standing up for what you believe,  and ways you believe are correct even if this stand may be contrary to conventional wisdom. Moral courage includes a willingness to admit mistakes.

Tenacity:   The quality of holding a firm resolve. Tenacity is that value which causes us to hold to a chosen course despite challenges or difficulties, to see a thing through.
